Bringing Healthcare to the Doorsteps of Remote Communities
Kompiam district is vast, mountainous, and often difficult to traverse. Many families live far from the hospital, with limited access to transport, communication, or regular clinical services. Outreach patrols are our way of ensuring that every village, no matter how remote has access to essential healthcare.
Through a combination of air, foot, and maternal-child health patrols, our teams travel across the district to deliver care where people live, work, and learn.
Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Patrols
Some villages in Kompiam can only be reached by air. Our long-standing partnership with MAF makes these patrols possible.
MAF fully funds and operates these fortnightly flights, enabling our clinical teams to reach communities that would otherwise remain isolated. During air patrols, we provide:
- antenatal care
- child health checks
- immunizations
- tuberculosis screening and follow-up
- dental services
- health education
- health worker supervision
- VHV support and supervision
These flights are a lifeline for families living in the most remote parts of the district.
Foot Patrols
Where tracks or roads exist, our staff travel by foot to visit nearby villages. Foot patrols allow us to:
- follow up chronic patients
- provide basic clinical care
- deliver health education
- support VHVs
- maintain regular contact with communities close to Kompiam
These visits strengthen relationships and ensure continuity of care for families who may not be able to travel to the hospital.
Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Patrols
MCH patrols focus on mothers, babies, and young children, the most vulnerable members of our communities. Teams provide:
- antenatal checks
- newborn assessments
- growth monitoring
- immunizations
- nutrition support
- safe motherhood education
These patrols help reduce maternal and infant mortality and promote health early childhood development across the district.
School Visits
Healthy students learn better. Our school visits bring health education and basic clinical checks to schools across Kompiam. Activities include:
- deworming
- hygiene education
- oral health education
- health talks for both students and teachers
School visits build trust, improve health literacy, and support the next generation of Kompiam families.
