The original Lutisau Aid Post was moved to the new location at Ende in 2008. About 3 hours walk from Marambe Health Center (and another 6 hours from Kompiam), across the Sau River, and up into the mountains on the edge of virgin jungle, it serviced a large population from Kukurin, Yapatelin, Pakain and Sokon tribes. During the fighting in Lapalama this aid post was providing the only health care to the people of the area for many years. As services in Lapalama have slowly recovered, its role has somewhat declined.
The hospital is now in the process of restarting much needed services in this region, as its population has continued to grow over the years and access to health care remains limited.
