Pyarulam Aid Post

The opening of the new airstrip at Pyarulam in 2011 has meant the possibility of health services in this very remote area.It lies over the mountains to the north east of Lapalama, at least a days walk from there. It is a further day or day and a half to Yengisa from Pyarulam.

Previously, patients had to be carried by relatives to either Lapalama or Yengisa to have any chance of receiving health care.

There is currently one Community Health Worker at Pyarulam. In 2016 EDHS completed a new aid post and staff house. All material had to be airlifted in. The facility is made of steel and should last many years. They have radio, solar lights and 12V vaccine fridge.
