Marambe Health Centre
Marambe is 1.5 hours from Kompiam across the mountains to the northeast of Kompiam. Beautiful, very fertile and uncomfortably hot, it is home to some of our worst areas for malaria, and bed net distribution has been a focus here in the past. There is an airstrip and there is now a road as well.
The health centre was, until recently, only a grass hut. Some government money has built a permanent facility which now has a solar fridge and 12v solar lighting, although it still has no water supply. Currently three permanent staff houses has been built and another is being erected. We have two health workers stationed there at the moment.
